On July 28, 2011, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, Archbishop of Washington, issued an archpastoral letter on the sanctity of marriage to the clergy and laity of the Archdiocese of Washington.
His Grace, Bishop Matthias of Chicago and the Midwest, issued a letter on the same theme to the clergy and faithful of the Dicoese of the Midwest on August 2, 2011.

As reported earlier on the OCA web site at http://oca.org/news/oca-news/bishop-michael-of-ny-and-nj-reaffirms-the-sanctity-of-marriage-in-pastoral , a similar letter had been addressed to the clergy and faithful of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey by His Grace, Bishop Michael on June 24, 2011.
