Odessa, May 12, 2014
A commission that intends to determine the circumstances surrounding the May 2 tragedy has begun working in Odessa.
The commission includes journalists, public figures, and criminal law experts, an Interfax correspondent has reported. The commission is composed of representatives of both pro-Ukrainian and pro-Russian publications to ensure that the conclusions made by the commission are recognized by all parties to the political conflict.
Members of the commission said they will make the results of the work public only if all 12 members of the commission sign them.
The commission was created at the initiative of Ihor Palitsa, the head of the Odessa region's administration.
