“The seizure of Orthodox churches, temporarily halted late in 1990s, has started again,” wrote Archimandrite Alipy (Svetlichny), Rector of the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul in the Nyvky neighborhood of Kiev on his “Facebook” page, reports Interfax-Religion. “What does it mean? Beyond a doubt it means that civilized laws are not working in the country, that the state system and the people who became a part of it have no real influence on the country, and that the executive authority is in crisis. Jungle law has set in, and so if you do not help yourself, no one else will”.
“The opinion that, ‘if the Ukrainian Orthodox Church had become autocephalous no one would have touched It’, is completely wrong,” Father Alipy writes. “The point is that today churches are being seized by vandals for “the Kyiv Patriarchate.” If the situation takes a favorable turn, they will be seized by Uniates, then by sectarians (today we see that various kinds of sectarians are very bloodthirsty and aggressive, with their pastor Turchinov at the head), and next it will be the turn of pagans and other evil scum. This is the natural jungle law, by which the Ukraine is living today.
“Each time the supporters of transfer (to “the Kyiv Patriarchate”) will have to change their orientation in order to keep churches. That is why I say: neither autocephaly nor union will help. They want the Church dead! The very Church of Christ”.
